Martha’s Vineyard, MA (May 15, 2003) – The Martha’s Vineyard Surfcasters Association (MVSA) website at www.mvsurfcasters.org on the World Wide Web has been awarded the Golden Web Award by the International Association of Webmasters and Designers (I.A.W.M.D.). The prestigious award recognizes websites for their "creativity, integrity and excellence on the web" according to the I.A.W.M.D. The site contains a wealth of information about fishing the in-shore areas of Martha’s Vineyard and conservation issues relevant to sport fishing. Of particular interest to anglers are the website’s sections on fishing reports, interactive forum, and helpful angling information. Award winning photos depicted on the site showcase the "Vineyard" as the premier East Coast fishing destination.

The "Vineyard Surfcasters", consist of men, women, boys, and girls who all share in the passion of sport fishing. Both Island residents and visitors belong to the organization which provides numerous activities that promote the sport. Included among the fishing subjects within the website are surfcasting, fly rodding, and boat fishing.

According to Jeff Sayre, MVSA president: "We are extremely proud of MV Surfcasters website. Many of our members contribute photos, reports, and creative ideas to our electronic magazine on the web. ‘Mvsurfcasters.org’ is another example of the strong team spirit within our organization."
